Motorboat - a perfect way of spending your weekend away from the hustle

A motorboat is a term for a variety of crafts that are distinct due to their compact size and economical nature. It’s an excellent form of transport for sea voyages, fishing, riding a waterski and simply relaxing all day with your family.

A distinctive feature of the motorboats are their simplified passenger quarters (one or many), without a full kitchen like on a yacht.

What kind of hull to choose

Motorboat hulls are manufactured from different materials that include:

  1. Aluminium hulls. A practical option for avid fishermen and anglers. These hulls have outstanding strength and stability on water. Aluminium does not absorb moisture and can easily withstand below-zero temperatures during winter.
  2. Polymer hulls. Motorboats made of polymer are typically more refined and elegant. A large advantage is the heat insulation the hull provides. The craft material is better for health, all this means such polymer motorboats are great for family voyages and water activities.
  3. Composite hulls. The bottom of the hull is metal to provide stability in water, while the upper hull is done in plastic for comfort and looks. This option will be more expensive than the previous two.

Cabin or open motorboat?

You need to choose based on the purpose of the vessel. If it will mainly be used for trips on the weekend or for nights out on water, then absolutely go with a cabin motorboat - that is your best option. In case the motorboat will serve as a mode of transportation between islands, used for short trips around close to the shore or fishing, then it’s more preferable to get an open motorboat. The cost of running is lower, and it will serve its purpose incredibly well.
